Open Letter of Reconsideration to Governor Palin

Dear Governor Palin,

I am writing this letter to respectfully ask you to reconsider your decision to not seek the presidency. Instead of begging, pleading and rattling off hundreds of reasons why you are the leader we need at this time; I’m going to tell you my story.

I am 25 years old and I can tell you first hand – my generation is lost. My colleagues could care less about the state of our union; they are clueless about what is currently at stake at this very moment in American history. We are losing our country – fast – and they choose to cover their ears and close their eyes. There was a time when I fell into this same class; I've lived in this state of denial toward reality.

We as Americans have become so comfortable with freedom that we cannot identify what it may look like to lose that freedom. If only Americans would grasp Ronald Reagan’s concept of freedom – it’s only one generation away from extinction. If we do not carry the torch, America will go dark and she will slowly fade away. It’s starting to happen now and we’ve got to awaken this country before it’s too late…

I’ll never forget walking through the living room when Senator McCain had just introduced you on stage as his Vice Presidential nominee. Typically, I would have told my mom to “turn that crap off” but on this particular day, I stopped in my tracks and asked, “Who is that?” She explained you had just been picked as the GOP’s Vice Presidential nominee. I sat down, listened to your speech and cheesy as it may be – my life would never be the same.

Weeks later, I moved out of state and on my own. I found myself becoming very interested in politics. I began researching, watching the news and discussing politics with friends and family. As the weeks went by and you hit the campaign trail, I would jump out of bed every morning and turn on the TV to see where you were campaigning that day. You became like part of my family, you kept me from being lonely at a time in my life when I needed someone/something to give me hope for my own future.

One fall day, I took a drive down to Salem, Virginia for a rally you were attending. It was a 3-hour drive and looking back I chuckle when I think about how out of character it was for me to jump in a car and drive 3 hours for a 'political rally'. It turned out to be one of the greatest days of my life. The people I met were so real, kind and patriotic. I looked around the stadium and it was as if a fire was lit inside of me – I was so proud to be an American. A tear rolled down my cheek when the National Anthem played and from that day forward I realized the importance of getting involved and fighting for America.

You’ve inspired millions across this country; I’ve met so many others with a story similar to mine. See, you have a unique ability to stir the hearts of Americans; an ability to energize and enliven people across this country. Yes, this can be used in a positive manner “without a title” but with all due respect, your country needs you. We do not have time for “good ‘ol boys” and typical politicos. America is at the brink and even if we are successful in the general election – without you as our President-elect – we will end up with another politico at a moment in history when we do NOT have time for politics as usual. This "sudden and relentless reform" you speak of, is our only chance of getting America back on the right track.

Governor, you are the type of leader that comes around maybe once in a century. I realize this decision is both momentous and life altering for you and your family, but you’re all we’ve got. And truth be told, we are all you’ve got; you are the people’s candidate and ‘We the People’ need you – for such a time as this.

Your support base will astound both you and your detractors. ‘We the People’ are waiting for the reluctant candidate with a true servant’s heart – that candidate is you. Please Governor, reconsider.

Hopefully and respectfully,
Jelayne Sessler

'Grizzly Fest' Online Summit – The Restoration Continues

On October 5th, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin let everyone know she would not seek the GOP nomination for the presidency at this time. She urged supporters to join her in continuing to fight to restore America’s “greatness, goodness, and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.”

On Oct. 29th Palin supporters will gather for Grizzly Fest, an historic online summit to move ahead with a positive agenda of reform. Because we’ve still got our Grrrr on … Way ON!

Join your friends in the Palin grassroots movement including (Steve Bannon, Tammy Bruce, Jedidiah Bila, Peter Singleton, and representatives from C4P, O4P, Texans4Palin, and Team Sarah) to renew, reload and re-organize. The idea for Grizzly Fest sprang from Tammy Bruce’s suggestion for a Palinista “Meet-Up” to plot our next steps. It gathered steam during a recent Roderic Deane radio show. We’ve rounded-up an inspiring group of Grizzlies to discuss the success of the movement so far, the ongoing work of restoration, and what comes next as we rally around shared values and purpose.

We invite Palin supporters everywhere to listen in LIVE to this important discussion on Saturday, Oct. 29th from 2-5 p.m. ET, and to share their own ideas in our dedicated forums. We will be announcing more details about this event in coming days, and launching a Grizzly Fest website.

After the historic elections of 2010, the conservative movement is on the ascendancy.
Now more than ever we have an opportunity to unite alongside Governor Palin to actively and “aggressively” support true public servants who will stop runaway government debt and job-killing regulations. We have the unique opportunity to promote free markets and energy independence. We have the opportunity as a large grassroots movement to continue to hold our elected leaders accountable, and to dismantle the government crony system that stymies our entrepreneurial spirit and siphons away untold billions from our public treasury.

We must fight for leaner government at all levels. We must defeat the permanent political class.

Over the last three years millions of us have drawn inspiration from a once little-known governor of Alaska. Sarah Palin has set the standard of public service — from her days as city council member, then as mayor, chairwoman of the Alaskan gas and oil commission, vice presidential candidate and governor of Alaska. She gave us the VISION of what we wanted in a leader.

Now it’s still up to us as constitutional conservatives to make that vision a reality across the country, to advance her vision of reform, ethics, and fiscal responsibility, and to support leaders with the restoration agenda.

The battle awaits. And we remain UNDEFEATED.

Follow 'Grizzly Fest' on Facebook and on Twitter.

We're Here, We're Clear, Get Used To It

On July 18th I posted an article about promoting "The Undefeated" in north Texas. In the piece I made the following statement:

"There is something especially unique about Sarah Palin supporters. Not only are they energized, optimistic, confident and patriotic, but when you meet a Palin Patriot you immediately feel as if you are kindred spirits—almost like family."

Today, my fellow patriot - Josh Painter - wrote an article about Governor Palin's October 5th announcement where she declared she will not be seeking the GOP nomination in 2012.

To me, the most signifigant part of his piece was the following statement:

"Sarah Palin's strongest supporters are in no hurry to jump to any other candidate's ship. Indeed, her own ship is not sinking. It has only lowered its sails "at this time." Make no mistake: when a favorable breeze is felt, the canvas will again be hoisted. No one GOP presidential candidate even comes close to offering the complete package Gov. Palin's supporters still see in her."

Sarah, I'm not going anywhere. The majority of your support base is on board with you. And to those that have gone astray, I can guarantee, still share the same love for you and your principles that they did on October 4th.

Open Letter to Governor Palin

Guest submission by: Anonymous
Dear Sarah,

I write this letter from the ultra-liberal, government owned and occupied state of New York.  I am deeply saddened about your decision to not run for president in the 2012 election cycle.  While I respect your decision and reasons for declining to run at this time, I beg you to reconsider.

Please know that this is not mere idol worship on my part.  I am a cynical conservative from New York.  I have studied your record as Mayor of Wasilla, Commissioner of Oil and Gas, Governor of Alaska, VP candidate in 2008 and campaigner in the 2010 elections.  From studying your 20+ year political career, I know that you are a real deal reformer and exactly what America needs right now.

While I have a strong faith in God and engage in private prayer on occasion, I’m not exactly what you would call “church going folk.”  However, I want you to know that before your decision, I made it over to my local church—St. John the Baptist—dipped my fingers in the Holy Water, made the sign of the cross, got down on bended knees and prayed that God would urge you to run.  I did the same shortly after your decision and asked Him to make you reconsider.

I watched “The Undefeated” last night for the third time.  There was a part in the film that inspired me to write this letter.  It was around the time of great tumult for Alaska. Rick Halford urged you to run for Governor.  He reminded you about the biblical story of David and the Five Stones.   He said, “You have the Five Stones.  You have the right positions on ethics. On energy. On governments appropriate role.  You’re different—Alaska needs something different.  And while you won’t have the establishment support,  Alaska needs change and you should run for Governor.”

Well Sarah, I’m writing today to say—you STILL have the Five Stones.  Those stones that Halford spoke to you about that applied to Alaska, now apply to our great country.  This country is in serious trouble.  Like Alaska needed you back then, America needs you now.   After four years of Barack Obama, America needs serious change and serious reform.

I am sure that you are aware of an online movement on Facebook called “Sarah Palin’s Earthquake.”  It is a gathering of thousands of like-minded supporters—like me—who are not idol worshiping, but have studied your record and accomplishments and know that you are the right person for the job.  In short, we want you to reconsider.   If you decline, please know that the majority of us understand and we will continue to support you and your quest to re-take the Senate and saving the House in 2012.

The Long March

Guest submission by: Del Parker
Thank you Gov. Palin.
Thank you Peter Singleton and the Iowa crew.
And thank you Stephen Bannon.
And thank you gentle folks in Texas and OK and one from NM that made their way with me to Indianola, September 3rd.
I too listened to Gov. Palin’s “…you don’t need a title to make a difference…” interview a week before her October 5th announcement not to run.  I feared there would be no run.  A fundamental requirement by the electorate of a presidential candidate, though not enumerated in the Constitution, is the candidate seeks  the office.  So I was of course puzzled in the hearing, as everything I was listening to defied everything I knew about Sarah from Alaska.
And then, a week later, I became a grief counselor of sorts, taking calls from supporters that were in tears or angry, trying to understand just what was happening, and how and why everything that they had hoped for and worked for had seemingly evaporated.  And yes, this decision not to run was final.  Indeed, Sarah called out Gov. Christie for being indecisive about not running, to underscore the finality of her decision, as Sarah Palin was going to have none of that.  She was not running.  And an audible was given for Herman Cain and his 999 Plan, so any supporters that had to leave immediately, could do so, and make exit.
I offered up the following explanation. Gov. Palin was planning a strategic late entry, and the Establishment GOP, supporting Gov. Romney, had advanced the primary dates a month or so.  This turned three months of preparation for the early primaries to two months, which included at least three holidays.  There was all of one million dollars in SarahPAC.  And in a short race, although Iowa was perhaps ready, NH, SC, and FL were not, and there was insufficient time to effectively organize the one-on-one ground game of o4p in the shorter time frame.  So ad money would in part become the means of winning perhaps 2 or 3 of the early states, and the previous survey of expected O4P financial support, including the money bomb, was not deemed sufficient to prevail.  Faced with these difficult and seemingly unsolvable challenges of being squeezed for time and money in the early state primaries, another door was closed.  The establishment-controlled GOP made it clear they would not be supporting her candidacy, in the primary, or in the general.
This last point of no support, or even quasi-neutral support, from the GOP Establishment, even if  Gov. Palin were to secure the GOP nomination, would ensure Obama’s victory, as would a ruled-out third-party candidacy.  And Gov. Palin, first, is a problem solver and coalition builder.  She has successfully reached out to liberals, with a track record for governing as a social libertarian. And she is joined by conservative Democrats on cutting spending and a balanced budget.  But not having the backing of her own party is lacking a key element of her coalition. Indeed, some state filings require the party to certify her candidacy, and that event itself may have been clouded or subject to delay.  In any case, the GOP was bought and paid for and locked up against her, working actively against her in the primary, and offering no support in the General.  So, given all this, there was no clear path to the presidency, and her entry would increase the likelihood of an Obama reelection, given the present status quo.
Challenging the status quo of an entrenched enemy on the left and on the supposed right is a many faceted exercise.  Gov. Palin, just by threatening to enter the race, has already perhaps effectively prevented the entry of other GOP establishment figures more formidable than Gov. Romney, as it would split the GOP establishment vote, while Gov. Palin would gain most of the conservative and independent vote.  A survey of how the dynamics of the campaign would likely unfold weighed on the decision.  Had Sarah announced on October 5th, the heavy lifting would have fallen to her.  But the heavy lifting is ours.
Yes, we had 60 coming out of Texas to Indianola, but that is not the 800,000 or so needed for the FL Primary, or the 60 million needed to clean the Senate and House in November 2012.  Sarah Palin can not restore this nation. Only Americans can restore this nation.  And when Sarah from Alaska closed the door on a presidential campaign, on October 5, she did indeed feel a sense of relief, and a confirmation, as the realization is now hopefully stark and clear, the burden truly falls to each of us to raise the banner of restoration for this nation.
And an interesting thing happened following the announcement.  We are still here, and have actually grown.  There is no one else that I want to see in the presidency other than Sarah Palin.  There is no one else that is the author of the five-point plan.  There is no one else that has the vision to present and implement the terms of the Palin Doctrine to guide this nation’s foreign policy.  All these things are so right for America, and right for America at this time.  There is no one else that has the ability and vetted credentials to campaign for relentless reform.  All 60 of the folks that went to Indianola out of Texas and OK are still here, and still waiting to see this nation make itself ready for the likes of Sarah from Alaska to become President.
But, as Jelayne Sessler, PalinDefender and o4p Ft. Worth, has commented, “… [on October 5th] all she had was us.”  And Organize 4 Palin, as it stands now, given the constraints of money and time, is not enough to restore this nation, and make this nation ready to accept Sarah Palin as president.  And Gov. Palin did the correct thing, as this race is to be run, in a manner that it can be won.  If, after the lawyers have made clear, the GOP establishment fine print for running a presidential campaign, makes Sarah Palin’s presidential campaign an insurmountable mountain to climb, Gov. Palin has done well to immediately change tactics and alter course.
Rather than sell her soul to the GOP establishment, Sarah Palin has stood in the St. Louis arena, and declared, “…Palin is not for sale.”  And she has taken what was to be a presidential campaign to the next level and done what only Sarah Palin can do.  She has upped the volume. It will not just be a campaign for the presidency, but a campaign for every office in America.  It will be a campaign for the ideas of Sarah Palin. Relentless Reform, Fighting Crony Capitalism and Pay for Play, the Five Point Plan of Restoring States Rights, Repealing Obamacare, Reigning in Spending, Restoring Energy Resources, and Lowering the Tax Rate, and implementation of the Palin Doctrine.
Organize 4 Palin is still here, as we have no where else really to go.  And while there are leaders, such as Cain that can articulate parts of Palin’s ideas, there is no leader on the national stage whose ideas these all are by heart. So it is Game On.  Let the chips fall.  The burden is on o4p and on Americans  throughout this land to do what it takes to set the stage for these ideas, which are worth fighting for, to come to fruition.  When the burden of bringing restoration to this nation is lifted by Americans throughout this land, Sarah from Alaska will have a path to the presidency.  Until then, as Peter Singleton reflected late in the night of October 5, we have a long march ahead.

Palin's Poker Face

Last night I wrote my thoughts on just what might possibly be going on in the Palin camp (which we know is comprised of Sarah and Todd):

Have you watched her interviews over the past few months? The commentary she uses to defer the “BIG question” is either, “still contemplating the huge life-changing decision” or more famously – “do I need a title to make a difference?”
It seems to me these statements are more like her “I can’t announce right here and now” rebuttal – and it’s absolutely brilliant. She keeps the world guessing, gives the media the runaround, and formulates a strategy to give her competitors the shock of their life.
The purpose of this verbiage is to create an atmosphere for complete and total surprise. It’s her poker face,” her “expressionless face,” a face without any interpretable expression – as that of a good poker player, someone who doesn’t show any emotion of reaction so that people don’t know what they are planning.

Tonight Governor Palin spoke with Judge Napolitano on the Fox Business Channel. When asked about her plans for 2012 she replied, "You know, I hold my political cards close to my chest, I've certainly learned lessons along those lines and I'm going to continue to do that until I'm ready to make an announcement - this is a serious decision and I'm engaged in serious deliberations and within the next 24 hours don't look for me to make a decision."

All I have to say is - remind me never to play a hand of poker with the Governor.

Awaiting General Palin's Call To Action

Palin supporters, myself included, have endeavored in speculation about the Governor’s 2012 plans until we’re blue in the face.

Last night, Palin did an interview on the Fox News channel with Greta Van Susteren. When asked about her plans for 2012, she had this to say:

"Is a title worth it?" she asked. "Does a title shackle a person?  Are they someone like me, who's a maverick? You know, I do go rogue and I call it like I see it, and I don't mind stirring it up in order to get people to think and debate aggressively, and to find solutions to or the problems that our country is facing."
Palin continued, "Somebody like me -- is a title and is a campaign too shackling? Does that prohibit me from being out there, out of a box, not allowing handlers to shape me and to force my message to be what donors or what contributors or what political pundits want it to be? Does a title take away my freedom to call it like I see it and to effect positive change that we need in this country? You don't need a title to make a difference, truly."

After this interview many supporters became discouraged in hopes of Palin making a run for the White House.

The Governor is all about using common-sense to address issues, so let’s take a look at the situation at hand using the same principle…

Firstly, have you watched her interviews over the past few months? The commentary she uses to defer the "BIG question" is either, "still contemplating the huge life-changing decision" or more famously – “do I need a title to make a difference?"

It seems to me these statements are more like her 'I can't announce right here and now' rebuttal – and it's absolutely brilliant. She keeps the world guessing, gives the media the runaround, and formulates a strategy to give her competitors the shock of their life.

The purpose of this verbiage is to create an atmosphere for complete and total surprise. It’s her "poker face", her “expressionless face", a face without any interpretable expression – as that of a good poker player, someone who doesn’t show any emotion of reaction so that people don’t know what they are planning.

Speaking of planning, how many times has Sarah told us not to retreat but instead to reload? In this instance, to those who don't really know her, she is retreating but could it be that she is actually reloading/ preparing?

"When your enemy is prepared for you to attack, go on the offensive - retreat, but when your enemy thinks you are retreating to your stronghold, attack when they least expect it."
--Unknown

I'm convinced this is her strategy and I don't believe for one second that she hasn't already decided. Think about it, if she wasn't running there would be no reason to put off telling us her decision. This isn't rocket science folks, if it were; we would ask Herman Cain for help.

We could go on to discuss some of the red flags we've been given – as to why she is planning on running but quite honestly, I’ve become exhausted while struggling to convince my own colleagues of this announcement.

With that being said, we must keep in mind one other thing Governor Palin has said: "keep your powder dry". This means, to ensure that you are ready for action or for a crisis. In the age of muskets, soldiers kept small bags of gunpowder for the use of loading their guns. If the powder became wet by falling into a river or being exposed to rain, the soldier couldn't fight because their gun would not function.

Therefore, when someone tells you to "keep your powder dry", they mean to ensure that you're not going to come up short in a crisis because you haven't taken care of business ahead of time.

Will you be ready when the General announces the call to action?

What Does Governor Palin Owe You?

Guest commentary by C4P's "Don B" reprinted in it's entirety with permission:

This dear woman, Sarah Palin, has dedicated her life to doing what is right by the people of her state and this great country.  And for it, she has been forced from a job she dearly loved and faced bankruptcy, her family has been dragged through hell, and her parents sleep with a gun under the bed. She and her beloved husband have been accused of adultery. She has been accused of murder.  She has been accused of not being the mother of a child that was sent from God as a sign of his love for her. And through it all, she has never once shown an ounce of regret, and she has borne it all with a smile and a fierce determination to continue to do what is right.
She changed the health care debate with two words.  She has brought the battle directly to Obama's door with her tweets and facebook posts.  She has traveled tirelessly across this great land and around the world bringing a message of hope, encouragement and conservatism to those of us who wonder if there is any way out of the mess we're in.  She has campaigned for those who had the courage to step up and meet the call, and was largely responsible for the greatest electoral Republican victory in decades.  She has changed the focus from distinct party lines to a battle of We the People against corporate crony capitalism.  She has done all that and much more because she loves this country, and the people.  She has done it because she loves you.  She has already done more than any of us could rightfully ask, and she's done it without asking anything in return. She owes us nothing. It is we who owe her.
And now, NOW, some of you find it incomprehensible that she isn't doing what you want her to do, when you want her to do it.  Now some of you want her to go back to Alaska and ride her snowmobile.  Now you want to abandon her, all because you think YOU have sacrificed so much by supporting her for a presidential run she has never promised you she would make.  Now you hold her to a time line of your own choosing, forgetting that any date given by her was never set in stone, but simply a date by which the process must be underway.  You don't know what she is doing, what she is working on, or what she is thinking.  But you certainly do know that whatever it is, you know better and would do it differently and without question so much better.
Before you get on your high horse and ride away, consider what she has to decide to do in order to prove her love for you in a way you find acceptable, and what you are asking her to do in order for her to meet your standards and your demands.  Consider that knowing she and her family are the direct target of some of the most hateful, deranged and sick people the left has to offer, she must decide to put her family in harm's way to do what is right for her country. For you.
Sarah has incredible courage, but she also has others she is responsible for, who depend on her.  Would having a Palin child, or a parent, assaulted or killed be proof enough?  Would having Sarah herself shot at, wounded or killed be proof enough?  These are things that she must consider, and about which I'm sure she spends time on her knees asking God for guidance and protection.
If you feel you have sacrificed more for her than she has for you, then by all means hop on your horse and be gone.  Just don't leave thinking she owes you something.

Palin's Attorney Threatens To Sue Random House, McGinniss

ABC News is reporting Governor Sarah Palin’s family attorney John Tiemessen has written a letter to Maya Mavjee, the publisher of the Crown Publishing Group, a division of Random House, that Palin may sue her, the company, and the book’s author Joe McGinniss “for knowingly publishing false statements” in his book released last week, “The Rogue”.

Tiemessen writes in the letter that the email “clearly describes the fact that Mr. McGinniss researched and investigated many false and scurrilous allegations, and concluded that there was absolutely no evidence anywhere backing these allegations.” He continues, calling it “malicious” for Crown to publish the book when it has proof McGinniss and Crown “were fully aware the statements in the book were false, intended to be false, and were intended to harm.”

Tiemessen says, “The final work that was published contains most of the stories that Mr. McGinniss complains were nothing more than ‘tawdry gossip’ that amounted to the wishful fantasies of disturbed individuals... Since both your company, and the author, clearly knew the statements were false, admitted they had no basis in fact or reality, but decided to publish in order to harm Governor Palin’s family, you and Mr. McGinniss have defamed the Palin's.”

Tiemessen ends the letter by warning the publishing house not to “delete emails or destroy records” that may be used in the suit.

The email Tiemessen cites in his letter to Mavjee came to light last week when conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart posted an email between McGinniss and liberal Alaskan blogger, Jesse Griffin.

A source close to the Palins tells ABC News that the “Palins are fighting back and demanding answers from Random House.”
